The Blank Canvas is a defining element of every Yakosaka 777 piece — an intentionally blank back pocket left open for creative interpretation. With each drop, artists and collaborators are invited to respond to it. For Drop 1, Kohana Wilson's hand-drawn animation transforms the pocket into a moving artwork.

All pieces are sized by waist measurement in inches — 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38. We recommend sizing true to your usual waist. If you are between sizes, size up. Each product page includes detailed measurements for reference.

Yes. Raw selvedge denim will shrink approximately 1 inch in the waist on the first wash. We recommend sizing up by one if you are on the cusp, or soaking in cold water before wearing to pre-shrink the fabric.

Yes — all Yakosaka 777 pieces are designed and cut to be worn by anyone. The sizing is based on waist measurement only. We encourage you to try different sizes to find the fit that works for you.

Drop 1 features three distinct cuts — the 777 Jean (classic five-pocket), the 888 Drawstring Worker's Pant (hybrid workwear with drawstring waist), and the 999 Tobi Pant (inspired by Japanese Hakama workwear with an Obi-style waistband). The 222 No.2 Jacket completes the collection.

Selvedge denim is woven on vintage shuttle looms, producing a tighter, denser, more durable fabric than modern denim. The self-finished edge — the selvedge — runs along the outseam and is a mark of quality and provenance. All Yakosaka 777 pieces are woven in Kojima, Okayama, Japan — the birthplace of Japanese denim.

Raw or dry denim has not been washed or treated after dyeing. This means the fabric is stiff at first and will soften, fade and develop a patina unique to the person wearing it over time. The longer you wear it before the first wash, the more personal and characterful the fades will be.

Wear for a minimum of six months before the first wash. Cold soak only — submerge inside out with no agitation. Spot clean where possible to preserve fades. Do not machine wash in the first six months. Hang dry only — never tumble dry. Do not iron directly on fabric.

Wear your piece as much as possible before the first wash. The creases, honeycombs and whiskers that develop through regular wear create the contrast that makes raw denim special. The longer you wait, the deeper and more defined your fades will be — and the more personal your denim becomes.

UK orders are delivered within 3–5 working days. International orders typically arrive within 7–14 working days depending on your location. You will receive a tracking number once your order has been dispatched.
